In addition to the general accreditation, specific programs have been accredited, approved, or recognized by their respective agencies.

In 2013, Michigan Tech elected to move to the Open Pathway, a new pathway for institutions that have been accredited for more than 10 years. It requires that we meet the criteria for accreditation through an assurance review, and complete a Quality Initiative prior to the next comprehensive evaluation in 2021-22.

"Michigan Technological University shows clear evidence of its commitment to high performance, AQIP [Academic Quality Improvement Program] and continuous quality improvement,” the panel wrote in its evaluation.
